Emotions

Do you know which are the five basic emotions?
Which one(s) do you see in Paul’s portrait?

Very often we suppress our emotions, the ones we imagine to be socially inappropriate. Women, historically, weren’t allowed to show anger, and men couldn’t cry.

Which leaves us with emotional racketing : as a woman when I feel angry I will show sadness, and the opposite for men; when I feel sad I will show anger or disgust. Of course these are examples.

And you? How do you deal with your emotions?

The five basic emotions are joy, sadness, anger, fear, disgust…

Come and learn how to read portraits and recognise emotions,
